The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Rawalpindi Mohammad Bin Ashraf has ordered all the traffic personnel to lift any vehicle parked wrongly to ensure a free flow of traffic during the Holy month of Ramazan.

According to the details, he said that strict legal action would be taken against all the parking violators and the traffic policemen will impound their respective vehicles. In a bid to ensure smooth flow of traffic particularly near Iftar time when the roads are jam-packed, he directed all the DSP’s and other officials to keep their positions on all the junctions to clear the traffic jams. The month of Ramazan brings countless blessings, and one should not forget that it teaches us patience. It is commonly observed that the road rage during this month rises among the commuters, which is not a good sign in reference to what our religion teaches us. In this regard, he also laid stress on the importance of polite behavior of the traffic police with the citizens as keeping composure is a very important element while fasting and performing duty simultaneously.

The CTO strictly ordered to keep the roads clear of any traffic jams and further instructed that no complaints shall be received in this regard. Any car or motorbike which is parked at an inappropriate place or falls in the double parking category will be lifted and impounded immediately. Any hurdle in the smooth flow of traffic will not be tolerated at any cost. He told that the traffic police had made special arrangements to control the traffic, particularly in the congested areas of the city. He urged the citizens to cooperate with the traffic police to ease their burden in resolving the daily traffic issues. The authorities have deployed additional traffic wardens at the busy roads keeping in view the increasing traffic jams near Iftar time.

The number of vehicles on the roads of Rawalpindi like other large cities is increasing drastically hence creating more hindrance. Add the Ramazan factor, and the situation becomes a terrible one for any commuter. Therefore, it is a humble request to everyone to avoid unnecessary travelling near Iftar time while others may leave for their destination an hour before their schedule in order to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Stay patient in a traffic jam because it could only make things worse for you and others around. Cooperate with the traffic wardens and follow the necessary instructions. Avoid wrong parking to save yourself from any inconvenience.
